3711 Market Street Announces New Tenants
3711 Market Street, a world-class office and laboratory building, located in the University City section of Philadelphia, is pleased to announce Science Center Global Soft Landing Program and the Science Center’s corporate headquarters as new tenants.
The Science Center Global Soft Landing Program provides a soft landing for international companies entering the U.S. life sciences and information technology markets. The foreign-based organizations benefit from “plug and play” office and lab space, as well as a highly desirable location in the Greater Philadelphia region. Ideally situated in the heart of the country’s bio-pharma corridor, and midway between the nation’s regulatory hub in Washington and the world’s financial center in New York, Science Center’s Philadelphia location provides ready access to a skilled workforce and proximity to many potential partners.
Finally, in order to allow for additional space for another tenant’s expansion at 3701 Market Street, the Science Center has moved its corporate headquarters to the new facility. Established in 1963, the University City Science Center was the first, and remains one of the largest, urban research parks in the United States. The Science Center is headquartered in Philadelphia with stakeholders that include 32 distinguished colleges, universities, and research institutions across the tri-state region of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware.
The Science Center accelerates technology commercialization and the market availability of life-enhancing scientific breakthroughs by bringing together innovations, scientists, entrepreneurs, funding, laboratory facilities, and business services. The more than 400 companies that have originated at the Science Center now employ more than 29,000 people and generate more than $9 billion in revenues annually in such diverse fields as immunology, protein therapeutics, radiopharmaceuticals, the human genome, drug discovery platforms, green materials, and energy technology. The work of the 37 incubator and 61 resident companies that currently call the Science Center home ranges from diagnostics, therapeutics, medical devices, healthcare systems, bioinformatics, and cognitive science to information technology infrastructure, interactive media, nano-scale imaging, and green technology.
With these leases signed and several other commitments in hand, the new building is fulfilling the mission envisioned by the developers of this world-class LEED-certified project.
